Loross was the Netherese noble tongue. It uses the Draconic script. The language has declined strongly since the fall of Netheril and the subsequent fall of its successor realms.
Current speakers are for the most part scholarly wizards delving into Netherese lore, such as Thalantyr of High Hedge, but also many ancient Liches. Several obscure sects in Halruaa are also rumoured to speak the language. It has been observed that Netherese Undead show a remarkably favourable disposition to speakers of Loross, often permitting wayward mages to escape with their lives - and wiped memories - in return for news from the surface world.
