DialogueEdit

Farmer Todd: Hello there, traveller.

1. Busy with farm work I see.

2. Hello and good bye.

You: Busy with farm work I see.

Farmer Todd: *Laughs and gives you a warm smile* You got it! Farmin’s what I do, lass. Why do ye think they call me Farmer Todd, hm? *Looks you over briefly* And I take it you aren’t a farmer from the looks of ye.

You: You are correct. But I am looking for work, is there anything that I can do to help you?

Farmer Todd: *Setting down his milk pails* Most of the work ‘round here’s just simple chores. I’d hate t’bore ye with ‘em.

1. Nothing wrong with a little farm work. What needs to be done?

2. Find me if anything interesting comes up then.

You: Nothing wrong with a little farm work. What needs to be done?

Farmer Todd: Well, me and me family can take care of the normal chores just fine. But there are a couple of odds and ends that ye could help with, if ye like.

You: Odds and ends?

Farmer Todd: *Motions to the hay bails* Aye. On the other side if the farms are a few scarecrows we use t’keep animals away from our crops. After a while though, the wind blows the stuffin’ out of ‘em. Would ye mind filling our scarecrows with some fresh hay?

1. Sure, I can take care of that for you.

2. Actually, I think I'll pass this one.

You: Sure, I can take care of that for you.

Farmer Todd: *Hefts a bail of hay over to you happily* Careful with that, its quite heavy. Come find me when you’re finished.

You: Very well.

Acquired item: Bale of hay

Journal Entry: Farmer Todd has asked me to stuff his scarecrows with fresh straw while he and his family go about their daily chores. There are quite a few of scarecrows dotted throughout the fields that need fresh hay. Time to get my hands dirty with some good, old-fashioned farm work.

This scarecrow was half-empty, so you stuff it with hay.

After 6 scarecrows:

Lost item: Bale of hay

Journal Entry: I’m out of straw and the scarecrows are stuffed! I should inform the farmer that the job is done.

Farmer Todd: *Holding a sack of horse feed* Hey there. Did ye finish the job?

You: I did. They should be good for a while.

Farmer Todd: *Hands you a few coins* Here, take these. I know it ain’t much, but I’d like t’pay ye for your work.

1. *Take the coins* Thanks.

2. Please, keep the gold. You and your family need it much more than I do.

You: Please, keep the gold. You and your family need it much more than I do.

Farmer Todd: *Places a hand on your shoulder with a smile* You have me thanks, friend. There’s always a warm place for you to stay on me farm.

You: It was my pleasure.

Journal Entry: Farmer Todd was very thankful for the work I did in his fields. I guess overall, farm work isn’t too bad. Except for the smell. Maybe.
