The Goods are Gone Map 1

The location of the quest giver, Elad in Baldur's Gate Harbor. Elad is inside the Merchant League Trading Company building.

DetailsEdit

Location: Baldur's Gate Harbor

Quest giver: Elad

Elad is inside the Merchant League Trading Company. The bandit cave is located at Baldur's Gate Farmlands North. Go to Baldur's Gate East Gate District, then the Palace District and exit through the North Gate. You can also reach the Farmlands North by exiting from Baldur's Gate East Gate District and continue the road north. It is the same area where the wolves and bandits are located outside. Elad will say they are south but their hideout is in fact located in BG Farmlands North.

The bandits are fairly easy, with occasional archers and spellcaster. There are several loot chests. The stolen supplies will either be in sacks or barrels. There is one sack marked with red on the map that doesn't give stolen supplies, you need 6 of them but there are 7 sacks and barrels.

DialogueEdit

Elad: Well met my good madam/sir, what brings you to the Merchants League this fine day?

You: What is this place?

Elad: *Continuing his work at a frightening pace* This is the office of the Merchant League Trading Company. And my name is Elad. Our vision is to ensure the safety and transport of goods throughout the region at reasonable prices. Might you be interested in our services?

1. Well, I’m not a merchant, but I’m a fairly skilled adventurer. Do you possibly have any work for someone like me?

2. I am not a merchant, I’m afraid. Thank you for your time but I must be on my way.

3. I heard that the Merchant League was in need of people to transport dues.

You: Well, I’m not a merchant, but I’m a fairly skilled adventurer. Do you possibly have any work for someone like me?

Elad: *Picking up a quill and a stack of papers* Perhaps, let me see... *Picking up a quill and a stack of papers and flipping quickly through a stack of transcripts* It seems all our caravan guarding positions are currently filled. However, I may have another task for you.

You: What’s that?

Elad: Many of our merchants are being robbed just North of the city along the Tradeway. The thieves seem very efficient and large in numbers. Very few of our men have been hurt, but our losses in goods have been staggering.

You: What kind of goods have been stolen?

Elad: *Expertly twirling a quill and dipping it in ink* Provisions and cloth mainly. If you could explore the area and bring me whatever remaining items they have not done away with, I will reward you well.

1. A large number of bandits? I’ll pass this time.

2. What sort of reward?

You: What sort of reward?

Elad: *Making a few precise marks and sealing a letter* It will depend on what you bring back, of course.

1. That makes sense. On second thought, I think I’ll pass. Good day, Elad.

2. Yes, of course. I’ll take the job.

You: Yes, of course. I’ll take the job.

Elad: *Tossing a letter perfectly onto a small stack near the edge of his desk* I was hoping you would. I will see you shortly then. Good luck

Journal Entry: Elad, an extremely fast paced worker, has offered me a reward for retrieving whatever goods I can find for the Merchant League Trading Company in the Baldur's Gate Dock District. He mentioned the possibility of bandits operating just south of the farmlands. I wonder where their hideout could be?

The Goods are Gone Map 3

The location of all the sacks and barrels where stolen goods can be retrieved. The sack marked with red does not give stolen goods.

Acquired item: 6 Stolen Goods

Journal Entry: I’ve retrieved what goods I could salvage from the bandit cave not far off the Tradeway. I should return to the Merchant League Trading Company in the Baldur’s Gate Dock District and report to Elad.

Elad: *Still busy stamping and sealing transcripts* Have you had any luck reacquiring any of the missing goods?

You: *Setting down a few large sacks and boxes* Yes, this is all I could find.

Elad: *Getting up from his seat and looking over the items* Ah, cloth and dried beef from two of our recent caravans. Impressive. *Tosses a coin purse onto the counter* I can offer you two hundred gold for their return. What do you say?

1. *Taking the coins and smiling* Two hundred gold it is. Let me know if you have any more work, alright?

2. *Stepping back slightly* No reward is necessary. I am glad knowing at least some of the goods were salvaged, Elad.

Elad: *Clearly impressed* Such nobility and grace is rare, even here in Baldur’s Gate. The Merchant League thanks you endlessly.

You: *Bowing slightly* You are welcome, friend. I bid you farewell.
